This blog is about the configuration steps on how to implement Oracle E-Business Suite Extensions for Oracle Endeca. Oracle Endeca will help the customers not only analyze internal enterprise data but also analyze data from the social network and external vendor system either structured or unstructured or semi-structured. It is a tool where business people can quickly explore all relevant data with powerful hybrid search/analytical engine.


It’s a tool where business users can interpret and get a response. Data are explored in the search-oriented interface with the inbuilt hybrid engine.It deals with both structured & unstructured source.

Endeca Architecture

Endeca architecture has three phases and final user application is termed as Oracle Endeca Information Discovery,

  • EID Integrator
  • Endeca Server
  • Endeca Studio

Oracle EBS Extension for Endeca

  • It is hybrid search-analytical database and gives a platform to keep the pace with changing business requirements
  • This extension enables to optimize the business operational decision and improve the efficiency with real-time
  • It enables a conversation of internal business system with the external piece of information for any type of analytics
  • Out of the box integrated and secure with existing EBS application and exact security setting available in EBS level.

Configuration of Oracle E-Business Suite Extensions for Oracle Endeca

For integration EBS with Endeca, we need following components to be installed which come in a package of quick install,

  • Database
  • Weblogic Server, ADF Runtime, Endeca Server
  • Create Endeca Domain
  • Create Integrator Domain
  • Initialize Studio portal
  • Integrate Endeca with EBS


Configuration Steps

  • Unzip the Quick Install software package
  • Install XE(Express Edition) Database
  • Install Weblogic Server, ADF Runtime, Endeca Server
  • Create Endeca Domain
  • Create Integrator Domain
  • Initialize Studio portal
  • Apply Consolidate patched in EBS level
  • Creating a JNDI Data Source
  • Execution of Full Load
  • Integrate Endeca with EBS
  • Assign Endeca Role to Responsibilities (RBAC Manually)

Once the above components have been installed and configured as per the Oracle standard for the respective modules.

Finally, the respective role is assigned to responsibility, the user can log in and start using the Endeca page as per the assigned modules,

  • Endeca Release 12.2 V6 supports Oracle EBS 12.2.5 or 12.2.6
  • Endeca Release 12.2 V5 supports Oracle EBS 12.2.3 or 12.2.4
  • Endeca Release 12.2 V4 supports Oracle EBS 2.2 or higher
  • Endeca Release 12.1 V5 supports Oracle EBS 1.3
