No APIs? No Worries! Let RPA do the rest in Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) Service Powered by Automation Anywhere

Some of the widely used legacy systems do not have proper adapters in Oracle Integration or they do not expose APIs. RPA solves the problem; it allows you to create Robot-based transaction that replays the user activities in application user interface. It helps to avoid manual integration which results in the technical efforts reduction with cost and time saving.

Oracle Integration Cloud service supports adapters provided by Automation Anywhere to run bots to accelerate process automation, mitigate risks, and yet retain full control of your process.

RPA “The Future of Automation”

Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is widely used in ERP applications for automating many tasks. Some of the examples are

  • Payable invoice process in Accounts Payables (AP)
  • Maintenance of customer masters and credit approvals in Accounts Receivables (AR),
  • Account reconciliation in General Ledger (GL),
  • Candidate search in job portals,
  • Filtering and scheduling interviews for recruiting process in HCM and many more….

Oracle RPA adapters can simplify integration by eliminating the complexity associated with web services and other connectivity methods. We can configure the Automation Anywhere control room instance to allow us to invoke bots by using the public Automation Anywhere REST APIs.

Evolution of RPA

RPA in the world of AI, RPA+AI= Intelligent Automation (IA)

Accelerate Process Automation using Automation Anywhere

Automation Anywhere is a complete web-based RPA platform, it allows you to create bots for simple tasks in just a few clicks.  It’s an highly intuitive modern interface optimized for every user which made the designing automation workflows extremely easy. As it is a pure cloud product, you no longer have to make huge upfront capex investments to build and maintain your own on-site IT infrastructure, this significantly drives down your total cost of ownership (TOC).

Any business user can create bots from a browser using simple drag and drop actions. Once the bot development is completed and deployed in the control room, the same can be called over for the integration flow from OIC.

Automation Anywhere adapters can be used to integrate application objects with the AA Control Room and simplify the application development.

The above image provide a clear view on the connection details required for Automation Anywhere from Oracle Integration. By providing the control room URL and credentials we can directly connect and utilize the RPA bots into the integration flow. The components of Automation Anywhere architecture includes Control Room, Bot Creator and Bot Runner. Control Room is a centralized management point for all bots.

In the data center, Enterprise Control Room is installed on a server and configured to interact with the other data center components. The data center can be on-premise server or provided through s cloud service provider.

How RPA Works with OIC

Manual process has always been a key factor when it comes to any form of business process. But using RPA with Oracle Integration Cloud using Automation Anywhere the manual process can be partially or completely automated. The manual process can be eliminated with the virtual bots. These bots can act as a deciding authority in a process like recruitments where they can fully or partially decide on the business process. The below example use cases helps to understand the RPA better:

Real-Time Use Case – Automate Recruitment Process in ERP Cloud

In the following example, we can see how RPA can be utilized for integration between an ERP cloud application and a Recruiting cloud application (which does have proper APIs or adapters).

Real-Time Use Case – Payment Integration with Banking Applications

The following example shows how RPA can be utilized for creating payment integration between ERP and Core Banking Application.

With OIC only: The payment created in ERP application will be posted to banking application through Oracle Integration (OIC). The payment will get posted through a payment gateway or by any third-party application. A business user from the organization will be manually validating the statements from bank and he/she will upload the same to ERP systems.

With OIC and RPA Bot: IQ Bot from Automation Anywhere can be used to effectively automating the above Payment process. IQ Bot combines the power of RPA with AI technologies such as Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing (NLP), fuzzy logic and machine learning (ML) to automatically classify, extract and validate information from business documents and emails. We can create an IQ bot to read and extract data from bank statements in the control room and it same can be called in a task bot which will upload the validated statements to ERP application for payment reconciliation.

Conclusion:

RPA is next generation automation process which is suitable for all type of High-level business sectors which can be deployed in a week with minimum technical backup. This process eliminates the one whole department which acts a business personnel instead of RPA bot.
